    Tool Challenge!

I"d say it"s a timing gauge for a small flywheel. In this case the spark plug or most likely the points are set to .035 and the wheel is timed according to the points A-B for open and close or TDC of the piston...... or it"s a really small frisbee.

    Fixing Cordless Drill Batterys

I rebuilt 2 of my Milwaukee 18v with the ebay batteries, ~1.5 yrs ago. Kind of delicate precision work to solder back the leads on the beatteries so they hold together nice and tight to fit back in the case. They are still working fine, dont last as long as the original did, but good enough...

Thoughts on engineers.. let's hear yours

for what it's worth... I also am an engineer, also went through a tech college in same field before going to engineering. I enjoy the techwork much more, but the money is better in engineering :) It is correct that most engineers are good in the books and not real life, I see it everyday! But...

as far as plug ends come in, try the Hubble plugs, a little hard to find and expensive buggers, but solid all around. We use them in the tool rental business.

    Where did I put that?

my dad used to drive me crazy since he seemed have no organization abilities, tools were all over the place, some screw drivers in the sand paper drawer, sand paper in the assorted wrench drawer... just a mess... i tried to put some order only to find it back the way it was or worse... well many...

    remote tire pressure

I see many new cars today with the sensor mounted in place of the valve stem in the rim. You notice that the valve stem is larger and solid metal not rubber. PITA for sure, when you put winter rims/tires on you dont have the sensor anymore.... and they are costly to buy.... anyhow, the amber...

    Drill hole in tile

if you have a smooth finish on the tile it is best to make a tiny chip with a gyproc screw and a hammer(center punching)then go with a carbide tip mesh as suggested....

Welding in a vehicle with a computer

I'm with stumpalump on this one, as an electrical engineer I also can tell you it is not good to remove ground from circuit boards, if you do you leave ground side floating and no place for stray currents to go but back into the device. I welded the exhaust on my Sentra with a Mig, made damn...

FA oil furnace heat exchanger welding

He installed a 3/4" thick cylindrical liner to replace the thin blanket that fell to pieces(which is why the chamber cracked...) I will look for a new chamber but the tech didnt think it would be available for that furnace... Thanks, Fred

FA oil furnace heat exchanger welding

As is the season now, it was discovered that the heat exchanger in the ~20 yr old BROCK forced air oil furnace has a bout a 2" crack in it (Liner collapsed) liner has been changed now. Reading old posts here, it is evident a new furnace is not any better, and I would rather pay more in fuel...

    Partner concrete saw

It is most likely a K650. I have about 5 or 6 of those, that is the 12" version. If it is the 14" then it is a K700 I think.... I have one but still not running. I did a quick search in google found the below link, the older machine is the MKII. oil mix is 50:1 or 2% (0.64oz oil to 1 Quart of...

Need snow blower info from experts

Up here in Montreal Canada, I'd say Honda, pricey but it keeps it's value, fully built with bearings, dependable Honda engine, easy starting, no need for electric starter, unless you like bells and whistles.
