John Deere manure spreader # 34
I have a 34 which I bought and rebuilt a few years ago. Great unit for the small farmer. The rope does indeed control the bed chain speed. Only complaint is that it throws rocks at the operator on the tractor worse than any other spreader I have used. I use my cab tractor when possible.- FFF

JD 34 manure spreader
I have had a 34 for several years and its has worked very well. Also ran one in the early nineties while working on a farm and I don't recall much trouble. Many of these smaller machines get used as a manure pile which gets unloaded once a week or longer so rust is the real issue. Make sure you...- FFF

6430 problems
A 6430 is a "drive by wire" computer controlled machine. Buy a code reader or ask the dealer to read the computer. I do not mean to be fresh but your light could mean something as simple as not wearing your seat belt. Some of us complain about computers making these machines difficult to work...- FFF

1963 john deere 400 backhoe
My father owned a 1969 john deere 400 backhoe and I spent many many hours digging cellar holes and trenches with that machine. Definetly check the sump screen, pull the hose off, remove the nipple, and actually pull it out and check it! Good luck- FFF

TxJim and the 5205
Tx, a few weeks ago you talked about hard clutches and loud engines on the 5200 models. Saw a 5205 for sale but haven't heard it run yet. Does a 5205 have the same engine and the same problems you talk about in a 5200? Are they any good? Thank you in advance- FFF

Square Bale Kicker-Thrower - Question
Yes the john deere can be shut off but why would you want to pick up bales if you can throw them in a wagon? Never heard of someone getting a kicker and regretting it!- FFF

john deere tractor 2355 series verus 5200 or5400 series
The 2350/55 and 2550/50 were great tractors in their day. A 2355 had 55 hp which would align it with a 5300-10-20-25. Given the choice between the two assuming both were new I would go with the 2355. That said the newest 2350/55 you are going to find is almost 25 years old so I would likely go...- FFF

How much can you safely turn up a 4020?
There is a lot of talk about "turning up" or fueling up a 4020 pump to get more horsepower. How much can you get out of a 404 with out being abusive to the engine. Many thanks- FFF

JD 3020 clutch problems
I have a 1966 2510 with 2100 hrs. My grandfather bought it new and it has only left the farm one time when I took it back to the dealership for work on the pto clutch. I know it seems crazy but true low hour machines do exist. My grandfather bought it new in 66 and retired from farming in 71...- FFF

deere 926 discbine
Respectfully I don't know where some of you come up with your "value" numbers. A 926 is a great modern machine, tractor house right now has the cheapest at $8,200 and $16,000 the highest.
