    A friend of mine picked up a 4890 drove it around a little paid for it came back with a truck hauled it to the farm and now noticed the third range does not work.     I would of recognized a clip off any master link. That is a spring 4 or 5 coils 2 of them along with a brass bushing and 4 roller bearings not tapered bearings but straight roller bearings. I can not see anyway that could be starter parts. the bushing is too small to be the clutch shaft bushing...

    No access port, not the shaft bushing, the throw out bearing and pilot bearing are intact

    I have a oil industry back ground and in one of the pressure control divisions the iron they pump fluid through tends to erode to combat this problem they would click as they called it to check wall thickness of the iron.
