    balancer shaft interchange for john deere 202 diesel mot

    Original 202 balancers are part number T20132 and sub to T25431. Local dealer doesn't show an interchange. Many websites are advertising to use the newer R54054 balancer. I have both sets and appearance wise they are very different. The later 219 motor that calls for the R54054 has shorter...

    400 backhoe engine swap

    looking at the John Deere manual it calls out (staking) the balancer bushings on the 4.202 engine. Is this still a common practice? I can not find the tool - JD255-1 Impress bar that John Deere mentions. Thanks

    Location of John Deere 4.219 engine block serial number

    Thanks for the reply, I have seen some photos of engines with a tag but this block doesn't have one. Neither does the old block in my Deere 400 backhoe. I bought this motor to rebuild for the 400 so it looks like I really won't find out what it actually is until I tear it apart and check the rod...

    Location of John Deere 4.219 engine block serial number

    I have a John Deere engine from a 2440 that does not have a serial number plate. Are there numbers stamped in the block somewhere? Block is numbered R55011/R55034.
