    Caryc and Jim.ME . . . . yes I have been filling too high. Picture of fan is attached. YES, I can turn the alternator pulley (where the belt goes) by hand. I guess that answers the question that my belt is indeed too loose. Will get a new, shorter belt.

    The fan is behind the radiator and yes, I can turn it by hand. When I add that quart of water, the coolant is about an inch below the cap. This has been a problem since I re-installed the radiator.
