    Stripped threads in idle jet

The one I am trying to repair looks almost exactly like this one, aside from the name on it. Mine has no identifying marks at all that I can find.

    Stripped threads in idle jet

The carb itself is kind of black, looks like it used to have red paint on it. For sure it is the MS TSX line, not zenith. As for the hill thing. I fiddled with it for a long while, and it is certainly a fuel delivery issue ( on the cheap carbs, not the one I am trying to fix). I let it die on...

    Stripped threads in idle jet

Oh, yea I suppose I could have been a little more specific. Its a 48 8n. I think it is the tsx 33 (it has no markings or tags). If it is a replica it is much closer to the original than the current batch of aluminum replicas.

    Stripped threads in idle jet

Hello all, been a while since I have been around here. A while back I tried to strip my carb (I can't tell if it is an authentic MS, or a very old replica, but it ran ok... It is cast iron instead of aluminum) When I got into it it seems that almost all of the brass was near fused to the cast. I...

8n axle interchange or other such problem

Good deal, sounds like I pretty much have everything aside from the axle then. I was mainly concerned about that bearing. Are they a bear to swap from one axle to the next?

8n axle interchange or other such problem

That sounds about right. If I go with changing the axle, what all will I need? I already have inner and outer seals (because I didn't do my research to know I wouldn't need inners). I know there is a bearing that goes on the axle, will I be able to reuse the one I have if it is still in good...

8n axle interchange or other such problem

Here is a strange one. I went to do a brake job on my 8n, which is not in the best shape, but it works (it has spent the last several years at my fathers and he has been using it). I decided to change the outer seals since I was going to be there anyway, and I wanted to make the most out of it...

    Direct me to proper parts??

Hey guys, I got the old 8n up and running and she is doing well for the time being. Need a few parts though... 1. Does this site sell a kit for a vertical exhaust? Tired of breathing fumes in reverse and when turning. Also it may come in handy when bushhogging. I imagine setting my...

    Starter Bushings

Sure enough. I had an old post describing the situation. He gave no explaination as to why it exploded, just that he hit the starter button and then had to fish all the parts out of the bell housing with a magnet. As with all the things my family borrows from each other, the general rule...

    Starter Bushings

Hey guys :) Still waiting on my old man to finish his magic on the starter he exploded. He called me just a few minuets ago and asked me if I could get him some bushings for it. He says they are just some brass bushing but I cannot seem to find them listed here. I bought a repair kit, and a...

Starter washer thingy at tip of bendix

Oh, and also the 12v conversion done to it was a joke too, basically just slapped on a 12v alt and batt and called it a day. That was another thing my father had to deal with. I would venture a guess that may have contributed to my starter problems, as it is still the 6v model. But from all the...

Starter washer thingy at tip of bendix

I have had mine for a spell, and haven't wanted to do anything heavy, just scrape the driveway, level some dirt, and pull some very small stumps (I dont believe destroying my tractor on the bigger ones would be a better investment then the couple hundred dollars a dozer rental would cost)...

Starter washer thingy at tip of bendix

Im sorry to hear that, in all honesty I dont know what I would do if/when mine were gone. Love the guy to death, he is just accident prone LOL

Starter washer thingy at tip of bendix

Thanks! Ordered. Hopefully this will solve the problem. This poor tractor of mine, I bought it recently, and have yet to get more then 30min of work out of it without something going wrong and having to put money and time getting it back up and running. The PO did not take care of it and...
