    The PO had wound copper wire around the Quadrant on a 2n I once had. It didn't look all that great but it worked ok and it stayed that way for the 5 o6 yrs I had it.

    Can Not Adjust New Points On A Early 8N

    Besides filing the screw slot I had to bend things a little as well so that the contacts came together square. I have had good luck with Blue Streak points. I definitely won't buy points in a set any more unless they specify Blue Streak.

    Ford 2n 9n 8n

    I have 2 8ns both early 48 one has great brakes it will lock up either side, the other not so much. I replaced both brakes and seals in both tractors and did them both the same as far as I know.

    I had the same problem with a Ford Expedition I pulled the hub and all and blocked it up on the concrete floor and whaled away with a sledge.

    Cutting shingles

    A paper cutter worked for a friend that did his large house, garage and shed before the cutter got dull. It still worked well on shingles but wouldn't cut paper anymore.

    Ford 1700 Transmission dipstick

    The dipstick is 7 long and 6.25 to full mark from very bottom of threaded plug. you could also measure from top of cover plate if no dipstick can be found that would be 6.5 to oil level hope this helps Mine is a 1710 it should be the same I also show the plug location. .

    Harbor fright gas engines

    I put one on my wood splitter to replace the Brigs and Stratton and it works just fine. I also have a pressure washer with the same 6-1/2 hp. Preditor engine that has worked fine for 5 yrs. Some people just don't trust Harbor Freight and wouldn't buy anything there and have nothing good to say...
