    Loader identification.

I think it is a Allis Chambers 400/500 loader. I asked chatgpt and it said it was a 40s loader first but when I specified to search images using the plate on the side of it, it came back with that. Pretty wild it could search for the loader just based on the single house shaped plate on the side.

    Loader identification.

I have a loader that doesn't appear to have any stamps or markings. I don't see a plate of any kind or any numbers. I'm not sure if it has been repainted but it is in pretty good shape. It could be that there is etched in information that I just can't see. I was wondering if any of you might...

Adding a quick connect to a Massey 255.

I could use a little advice. I'm adding a quick connect to my tractor as I didn't have a bucket and skid steer buckets and attachments are cheaper than a regular bucket and less fabrication. I spent $350 for the bucket and $200 for the adapter plate. I had a hay spear on there and used for...

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

Which is what I was basing my tests on but I saw a reference that made in UK ones were 0-30, which would make a 240-33 sending unit stay on full all the time.

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

I saw a reference that the UK gauge is a 0-30 ohm. If this is the case then it explains why there is no response. I had read some things that said it was 240-33 or similar previously.

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

I'd assume feeding 12 volt into it would cause sparks as it wore and had less contact with it being at the top of the fume filled tank if it had enough juice to tingle my arm or light up a test light. Maybe I'm overthinking it lol. I cut everything out and just connected the gauge directly to...

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

I'd have expected some response from it regardless. I ordered a new gauge last night that is 33-240. It was only around $8, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to have one.

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

I guess I assumed sending power inside the gas tank would be wrong. I assumed it was closer to being a multimeter. I certainly didn't expect it to send enough power to light a test light up. It seems like it would possibly be enough to spark and cause an explosion on a gas engine given it...

Massey 255 fuel gauge and sending unit. Aftermarket and troubleshooting.

So, I bought a 255 recently and the gauges weren't working, so I'm fixing them. The tach was missing a year in the drive, a new drive and I had that going. The gas gauge didn't work, there was no power to it. It runs off the oil pressure gauge which powers everything only when it has oil...

    New Massey 255.

I guess I forgot it has a fuel shut off to turn it off. It makes sense why it doesn't have a key off with that in mind. Probably best to just fix it right.

    New Massey 255.

It made no sense to me after initially getting the hood off. Then after seeing the comments here and a little more research it made sense. I see the gas isn't set up this way. Why are diesels set up this way? If the contacts on the oil sensor don't work, it seems like it would be cheaper and...

    New Massey 255.

I ended up going with the dorman 55818 because I got it for $20. It is setup so you can just flip the variable resistor over and make it 240-33. They said no but I went and looked at one and it is just the 2 screws and the whole assembly can be rotated. It means if it breaks I can buy the...

    New Massey 255.

Does the oil pressure switch only pass power when it has pressure? That explains why it looked so dumb. lol. I took the cowl and hood off and and I was looking at the tube and then all the wires. I just figured it was rigged up. The gas gauge itself worked when I powered it and grounded it...

    TO35 Clutch problems

I got it unstuck. It was barely stuck at all. A light touch with a screwdriver unstuck it, I didn't even pry. It is crazy that it was driving with the clutch in with so little pressure holding it stuck. Obviously the clutch is all the way against the flywheel. Once you have the clutch...
