855 loses power to hydraulics when oil gets hot
I can lift a scoop of gravel or dirt until my oil gets warm and then I loose power... I replaced the oil with what is recomended and still no lift!? Any info would be much apprieciated. . Thanks- flyin450f

Yes all is well on that end... thanks for the help!! I'm still struggling with the hydroulics not wanting to lift, the oil seems to be getting hot still... I changed the hydro fluid to the correct oil and still having issues after its warm.... the loader and 3 point don't seem to function at a...- flyin450f

JD 855 hydroulic loader gets weak?
Ok so I got in touch with the guy I bought it from and he said he used napa brand tractor hydroulic fluid. Is this okay to use? Also if my pump was going bad wouldn't that cause my drive power to get weak also?- flyin450f

JD 855 hydroulic loader gets weak?
So I run my loader for about 5 scoops of dirt and then my loader slows to a small creep. Like about 15 seconds to elevate it around a foot... my valves are really sticky and seem wore out, could this be cousing poor performance.. Ok thanks for the tips. So I'm wondering why my pto selection lever acts as the high/neutral/low lever... if I push it all the way down it seems to be in high gear and all the way up is low? But it has the little pictures of the pto hook up for the mower and the rear implements..- flyin450f

Ok so I went up to my property after work and played with the shifting linkage, everything seems to be working correct there... so I start it up and reach over and pull the pto divider up and it grinded and wanted to take back off. I shut it back off and pulled up on the divider, I started it...- flyin450f

I have some decent skills with working on things, but I hear nothing but horror stories about these...I have a bad feeling that the shifting fork is broke considering it wouldn't shift to begin with, if it is broke could it have anyway slipped into...- flyin450f

Yes I checked all linkages and they are all funtioning...my pump is funtioning cuz i have hydroulics. do you think there is any chance that since the hi/lo lever isn't working right, that maybe it just slipped into neutral and stuck there now since it was stuck in high.. do these have a shifting...- flyin450f

Hi so I just recently bought a jd 855 and it had a few issues. . One was the shifting lever was stuck in high, so I lubed it up and got it moving, but still no neutral or low... so I decided to work it a little bit, as I started to push into a pile of dirt it spun so I pushed the interlock...- flyin450f
