If I flip it over, it goes onto the shaft a fraction of a inch further, but no more. Is this what you mean? -

Ford 3000 PTO shaft problem from hell
The PTO shaft on my 3000 (8 speed with live PTO) developed a crack and needed to be replaced. I ordered an after market shaft to replace the old one. It was #C5NNA728A. However, when I tried to fit it on the PTO coupling, it did not fit. It appears that the groves in the new shaft are not cut... -

PTO wobble
Thanks. I tried a 12 ton to no avail. Probably not getting an actual 12 tons out of POS press. -

PTO wobble
I took the shaft out and spun it on some v-blocks. It ran straight until the last 5-6 inches (of the external end). The bend starts logically at the bearing. Wobble is around 7-8 thousands at the bearing and about an 1/8 inch at end of shaft. Is this shaft toast or is there a way to straighten... -

1966 Ford 3000. Just replaced the PTO shaft seal. When I put everything back, I had wobble in pto output shaft. When I disengage the PTO, it spins true when spun by hand. No problems engaging and disengaging at the lever. No funny noises. Could this be a bad bearing or bent shaft? How can I... -

Ford 909 cutter slipper clutch
Problem solved. I realized the ruing in question was splined and not threaded on. So between a 12-ton puller and a sledge hammer, it finally came off.- flyingace

thanks. It has been in continuous use the last 8 years. I added a pic to see if that helps. There is what looks like a locking ring on the first plate (pto side), but I can't budge it. See pic. Does this come off?- flyingace

Help! I need to replace the clutch plates on this cutter and I can't get the assembly off the hub. I have removed the snap ring in front of the clutch plates, and according to the ENTIRE sentence in the manual, it should come off. Hydraulic pump rebuilt, but now no pressure
I guess that's what I'm asking. What in the pressure cycle could be open if the pump is operating normally. Is there a list of usual suspects to check? Isn't there a valve in the high pressure return circuit that maintains pressure at a certain level? -

I rebuilt the pump, and it puts out a lot of fluid. More than it did before. But now the lift arms raise a inch or two and stops. I don't think I'm getting pump pressure, even though the pump seems to working as it should. I did remove the lift cover to verify nothing was blocking the return... -
