    600 Hydraulic Problem

This was driving me nuts until I finally found your reply in this thread, ONLY after adding the washer like you said was I able to make adjustments, it was pretty deeply worn and pitted back there, I know this is an old thread, just wanted to say THANKS to Hobo!

    Lift control valve linkage

I've seen these misaligned before but my 861 seems pretty far off, it'ss putting the control valve in a slight bind (sideways pressure). The linkage is pretty worn and sloppy, but maybe this was dropped before during a rebuild and bent? How far out is normal for a 70 year old tractor?

    841 Input Shaft Bearing question

From what I understand, in most manual transmissions, those input shaft bearings are almost always the culprit. But, I basically can't find any topics directly related to the Ford 4 speed

    851 Ignition Oddity

I gotcha, that seems like a bandaid for a problem that shouldn't exist, why bypass anything in a normal wiring situation? Not trying to be argumentative because you're more knowledgeable than me, but any tractor should start immediately, if not, it's only a couple of other simple things, with...

    851 Ignition Oddity

Question, did you measure the resistance of the 6v coil to make sure it's really 6v? I had a tractor once that someone was running an unmarked 12v coil WITH a resistor and it caused weak starting until I verified the coil. Otherwise you should never need a diode on a single wire alternator...

    841 Input Shaft Bearing question

841 is making a slight noise when clutch pedal is out (engaged), goes away when I press clutch down. Which of these 2 bearings is the most likely culprit? #5 or #7? I think if it's #7 I can't get it by just splitting tractor at clutch, correct?

    Carbs for 8N's???

Thanks Jim, I couldn't really make that one out, also better for me, Dad gives me all his rejects and most come from 8N's so I can use both of these if they're rebuildable, one is pretty questionable though...

    M&W Pyrometer value?

Thanks, that's good info and a great synopsis that's not available on Google...

    M&W Pyrometer value?

that's pretty crazy, I can buy a whole (non running) tractor for that!

    M&W Pyrometer value?

My Dad gave me this and I have no clue what it's for (exhaust temp?), after a little research I still can't find the value of this thing. It looks like it's popular with IH crowd? I don't know but the box is cool. Any help appreciated, I guess Ebay auction would be the easiest route for finding...
