    What color to paint Frankenstein?

Since you have the tin to go either way... if it were me...I'd go with the 4000 tin and paint scheme. Just for personal preference. If the 861 tin was in significantly better shape, I might use that ...but then I'd go with the red&grey paint.

Changing oil on 1974 3-cylinder Diesel Ford Tractor

'74 will use a spin-on filter. O.E. was the Ford 300 Dual. 85515HD is the number of the direct cross that I get from my local CarQuest. Many people use a Motorcraft FL1A. It's not an exact match for the ag filter specs, but it is a good filter.

    Next generation of tractor enthusiast

My brother-in-law won this pedal tractor in a drawing 25+ years ago. His daughters rode it (some) when they were little, then it was given to my kids. My youngest is 15 now, so the pedal tractor has just been sitting for a long time. My oldest niece now has two boys, so I thought it was time it...

    Ford 5200 hydraulic filter removal

I replaced one when I had a 5000 split that I was working on. You replace the whole filter, not just the paper element inside. I think it can only be replaced when the transmission is split from the rear end, or the 3 point top cover is removed. The filter is most likely not your problem, even...

    Tractor Identification Needed

Can't tell you what model it is, but it has a double reduction rear end and inboard disk brakes. That means it has the bigger rear lug bolt pattern. All Ford tractors with drum brakes from the 8N on share the same rear lug pattern

part onfront of 4000 row crop

The seat frame looks like the ones Ford industrial models of that era came with. Would have been easy for a dealer to order one and put it on before selling the tractor...or to order it as a replacement for a customer. I'd guess the pipe is just a homemade push bar.

    Ford 7500 Tach/speedometer?

U.S. built 7000's had an alternator from the factory, as well.

    Ford 7500 Tach/speedometer?

Replaced by the 750 in 1976... I wonder how much changed.

    Ford 7500 Tach/speedometer?

I assumed it would be like a 7000/7200, also.

    Ford 7500 Tach/speedometer?

I have very limited experience with any of the industrial models, but I would expect it to have the same tach/dash cluster as ag models of its time. Those would have a tach, but no speedometer.

    Ford 7500 Tach/speedometer?

    It's a tractor-loader-backhoe. Same engine and rear axle as a 7000.
