Ford 8000 Dual Power PTO Issue

Is there anything I need to be aware of with the Dual Power valve? It is operating well. But since it has to be removed, I am guessing I need to disassemble to check for wear.

Ford 8000 Dual Power PTO Issue

Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge, that is helpful. I was hoping to not have to split the tractor, but based on what you state it appears that’s what I should do. I did plan to rebuild the whole clutch pack while I had it removed.

Ford 8000 Dual Power PTO Issue

The repair manual is a little unclear to me, but it appears for the 8000 the PTO clutch assembly can be removed from that hole. I would just like to confirm from someone that knows for sure. I am wondering if the O-rings in the clutch pack and valve assembly are going bad and that is why the oil...

Ford 8000 Dual Power PTO Issue

I have a 1972 Ford 8000 Dual Power with a PTO issue. When the hydraulic oil is cool PTO will work normal. After reaching operating temperature I have to accelerate the engine engine to get the PTO to activate, conversely with no load on the PTO it will keep rotating, that is unless the oil is...

Will a 354 Perkins engine bolt up to an 1855 with a gas engine, or will an adapter plate be required?

1972 Ford 8000 Remote Cylinder Drift

Implements attached to my remotes will drift down whether the tractor is running or off. I?ve hooked another tractor to the same implements and they won?t drift down, which I would think would eliminate the remote cylinder as a problem. Could the problem be in the tractor remote control valve?

It?s a 1972 model with the dual power, if that makes a difference.

Ford 8000 Remote Hydraulic Leak Off

The remotes leak off on my Ford 8000 when I have implements attached, both remotes leak the same. I?ve looked in the manual and can?t find any information concerning that problem in the hydraulic section or in the troubleshooting section.

    Ford 8000 / 9000

Are the Ford 8000 transmissions the same as was used for the 9000. I have an 8000 and am installing a 9000 engine which includes the turbo, so there is more hp involved and would like to know if the transmission on the 8000 will handle the extra hp. Thanks

Slip clutch for 7 ft. rotary mower

I am installing a slip clutch on a 7 ft. JD rotary mower a would like to know if a clutch with 8000 lb torque is adequate. I don't want to undersize the clutch and have it slip needlessly.

    Oil for hydraulics

Is it okay to use Hy-Tran, or a comparable oil in the hydraulics of my Oliver 1655 instead the regular hydraulic oil? I have a newer tractor that uses hydrostatic oil for the hydraulics and I would like to use remote cylinders for implements without contaminating either of the systems using...
