    70 john deere

Sounds like the coil is getting hot, possibly to much gap in the plugs, or maybe restrictive plug wires, make sure they are solid core wires. I would also check the ballast resistor or make sure the coil has a internal resistor.

    John Deere G Aluminum Radiator

No you wouldn't need a water pump if you had larger diameter inlets but you would pay much more for the radiator because the top tank would have to be custom built instead of cutting one down they already have. It did however thermal syphon enough to keep it at 180 degrees at an idle but as soon...

    John Deere G Aluminum Radiator

HOWE Racing in Beaverton Michigan built it for me. It's a 4 core with angles welded to the sides for strength and a place to bolt my sheet metal to. Weight savings of about 180 pounds over the original radiator and a little over 200 on the G.

    John Deere G Aluminum Radiator

Had this one made about five years ago for my A and another made for my styled G. It was done by a local speed shop and I believe the price was around $250. Not bad for something made to my specs and it sure beat trying to fit something else in there.

murphy jd g block 70 all fuel head

Could be alot of things, but since it's together I would start at the carb and work backwords. You are at 861 cubes, a little over twice as much as the head and carb was designed for. Has your carb been bored? If not send it to Josh and get it done. You say your head has had major work done, has...

    John Deere A

I believe Shawns A was 6.75 x 10 with relocated cam and $6000 billet crank.

    JD (A) stroke

Helped a friend put an 8" in A about six years ago and still runs great today. The best thing he did was drilled and tapped the rod to accept an allen bolt. Which made it go by the cam alot easier. However do not rule out going with an offset rod even at 8 1/2 inches you would have less...

    Remus, MI pull this weekend

Yes thats what I'm saying I dont mind pulling against these guys. Most times these guys (88 and M's) would be set up to pull in the larger classes or 5000 to 7000 lbs with possibly heavier weight brackets and certainly 18.4-38 tires. Yes I know they could still make weight but your not going to...

    Remus, MI pull this weekend

I agree with Josh this rule has been overlooked for to long. A good running A having most of its original mass in the center of the tractor vs. an 88 or M with that big ole heavy motor sticking out front, yeah I'll take balance any day. Maybe just have a test pull of a couple of classes and get...

Have you made sure all the "slop" is out all the linkages. Any loss in governor arm movement is a loss in RPM.

    JD G AND 70 head

Yup, worked with a truck driver that said he'd backed up more mile's than what I'd went ahead. He was pretty special to. I thought we were giving are opinions to Josh. Didn't know I had to deal with the correct police. If I want to know the difference between right and wrong I'll talk to my...

    JD G AND 70 head

kendak, I didnt say they wern't still slated as an all fuel tractor. If you have seen many 53 G's then you have probably seen one with a flat head. They are easy to spot with a spacer between the carb and intake to make up for the shorter head. So whether the book says they did or didnt build a...
