Reverse Polarity check
I know it's been talked about b4 but I just cant find how I can make sure the polarity is good. Ferguson 30 Steering Linkage broken. How to Fix?
Have you performed this task yet? I'm finishing it up now on my TO 30 not only were the tie rod ends bad but the steering gear as well and that is a handful. I was gonna say be careful if you take both rear tie rod ends off, when you do if the sectors inside travel too far they will disconnect...- fOXTOOTH

That IS what I am talking about~ viewing the pic in the parts catalogue does not show the clamps and the bolts/nuts. So if I were to view the arrangement of parts, I would not be able to see said parts. Jussayin, not bringing your wisdom to question. I am not privy to the printed wording...- fOXTOOTH

Amateur Hour: TO-30 splitting
I'm sorry I caught this thread at the end of your adventure in pain because I did that split for the sole reason the transmission end of the main shaft seal had failed and the hydraulic fluid was fouling out the starter. Interestingly enough I was able to view the parts book on my 52 TO30 steering and it does not show or mention the way the sectors are attached to the steering arms with clamps and bolts/nuts- fOXTOOTH

Nice looking tractors. Mine is pretty ruff, I bought it that way and have used it to plow fields, haul firewood, grade and mow so it is worth it to me to tackle this steering issue - no matter how many cuss words it takes! Im assuming you did an R&R on the TO30 steering?- fOXTOOTH

It IS a big job to R&R the steering I can tell you that, but according to JDD above you dont have to R&R the steering to seal the arms, maybe he can expand on how he got the old seals out. In my case the bearings both top and bottom had almost completely disintegrated - I was probably steering...- fOXTOOTH

Im in the middle of a steering R&R, all I can say is uggh. If you have ever done this you know what I mean, so many parts have to be removed and reinstalled it is unbelievable. I did a tractor split on this TO 30 that was easier and less messy. Anyway, back to my question, I've not heard of corn...- fOXTOOTH

TO-30 Oil Change
thanx for the replies. I have a few vehicles to service the oil and often wondered, like in my Ford trucks, especially the F150 drinks oil, doesnt leak it and every once inawhile I'll have to top it off but forget which oil I put in last. Same with the Fergie, the oil is clean but needs topped...- fOXTOOTH

Aftermarket radiator
I bought an aftermarket radiator some years ago for the Fergie TO 30 and recently noticed it is cracking at the bottom hose port where it meets the radiator. Can I reasonably assume solder will work for a repair or am I just wasting my time? TIA for any replies jfox- fOXTOOTH
