    people suck!!!!!

I am sorry for the subject title, that post was about 5 min after I found the busted crank. I emailed the guy who I bought the tractor from and he said he was sorry and that in this business when we refer to a good block and good head it means there are no cracks. I am ok with that! one...

    people suck!!!!!

Take it easy...I do know what an engine is, and how it works. I've even changed my oil once. But thats not what I am saying. If I know I've got a siezed engine and a broken crank I am not gonna try and sell it on ebay as a good engine. I expected to rebuild the engine so i did not worry too much...

    people suck!!!!!

My first tractor was an A I bought it for $1000.00, The guy told me the only thing wrong with it was the magneto. Turned out the starter was fried, and the Head and Block have a crack in them.... So I decided to look for a new block and head. I found one on Ebay about 6 hrs round trip from...

    A gas tank fit a super c?

Is it a mount that can be replaced, or is it welded to the bottom of the tank?

    A gas tank fit a super c?

I am trying to find out what parts are interchangable from a Model A to a Super C. I have a complete A and I just bought a Super C that is missing a bunch of parts. So far it looks like the starter, front grill, magneto, exhaust manifold(carb) gaskets and such are compatible but, it would be...

Re: A cylinder 2 and 3 not firing

No worries, I took the valve cover off today and adjusted the valves. I did it at .017 cold and then came back after it was warmed up and readjusted it to .014. I am assuming it needed to be inches and not mm. that made no difference. I did notice though that while I was warming up the engine...

Re: A cylinder 2 and 3 not firing

I sprayed some carb cleaner at the manifold to see if the idle changed but it did not. I will try to adjust the valves tommorrow and see if that helps. Francois Thanks to all you guys for helping on this for me....

Re: A cylinder 2 and 3 not firing

I will take a look at that, I would'nt be supprised if there was no gasket at all seeing as everywhere else I've looked there has not been one. None in the carb and none on the mag... Francois

Re: A cylinder 2 and 3 not firing

I'll check the bubble thing, but no I haven't touched the valves yet other than when I first got the thing I could'nt get compression on cyl #1 an I found out the pushrod fell out from under the rocker arm. I just pushed it back in and had compression again..... Francois

    "A" cylinder 2 and 3 not firing

My A runs, but only when I have half choke. It blows white smoke out the exhaust and just realized that the num 2 and 3 plugs look like i just put them in. they are clean and not wet. To meit seems like the intake valves are not opening because they should be wet with fuel if not firing, but...
