    tractor was converted to 12 volt, starter went bad, was told to get 12 volt Wilson rebuilt starter and cannot get it mounted.I have removed distributor,coil to no avail.and bendix looks different. Overall length starter is about 1/4longer than original.looking for suggestions

    does it make a difference it has been changed to 12 volt. I'm going to work on tractor tomorrow. I have not seen it yet.

    It has been a lot of years since I was around a TO-20. Owner can not get it started .Does this tractor have a solenoid or just the gearshift operated switch has ignition switch with start position and solenoid. which is right. according to serial number it is a 1949.

    When I worked on my DLTX34 I followed Roberts Carb video and used a tap that just fit the nozzle and put about 1/4"of threads took a long bolt a couple of washers and a nut and pulled it out no heat at all. just clean out rust the best you can.
