1959 D17 diesel, New Owner

Mine turns over vigorously for about 20 seconds, then starts firing on about 2 and within 5 seconds runs on all 4. JD 24 T blaer, Knotter assembly fracture question
DraftX Thank you for the suggestion. I looked at the needles as they come thru the bottom bale case slots and they present evenly there. Tried to keep the knotters fairly tight by using combinations of the multiple washers riding, on the main shaft the knotters ride on and as close to the driven iron casting they receive geared timing from. Just finished timing the feed arm and knotter function on a 24 T that I'm bringing back to work . Dry run all went as expected, turning by hand counter clock-wise as manual indicates. Glow Plug question, 58 TO-35, with 23 C
All Thanks for the quick responses. I am not a believer in "Quick Start", to many of my previous drivers caused ring and piston damage on big Cat diesels using just a "little" to much ether. Watch the back side of wheel "offset" on any front wheel replacement.
