    Umbrella for JD 530

    If you have a float ride seat on the 530, you need a different bracket than that one pictured. The pictured one is for non-float ride, like late a-b thru 50. 60 70, etc. The float ride bracket is quite a bit different, should be in the parts book.

    Power Steering was an option on 430's. Not too many have factory power steering. Nice. desirable option.

    What brand of new rear tractor tires are 2nd best?

    Get something that you can stand/like to look at for years, as you will hopefully get to look at them for quite a while. Some tires out there are just plain ugly, and if you don't like the looks of them, that will wear on you, no matter what anyone says.

    Does 420-W have live power?

    Live power was an option on the 420W, not standard equipment. More do not have live power than do. Better confirm if it has it as long as that is a priority for you. Live power is a big + if you actually want to use the tractor for mowing, etc. If you are just playing or parading, probably not...

    Moving fenders on 630 row crop.

    Ben, the holes on the top of the axle housing allow for an inner and outer placement of the fender brackets. I have to use the inner placement holes if working 30" rows, or to take the tractor on a bumper pull fendered trailer. I can put my 730D on a bumper pull, fendered trailer, but everything...

    Sounds to me like it could be your tires are loaded, sloshing back and forth when stopped, like the tide coming in and going out.

    JD 1010

    The 1010's were first introduced with the shift on the dash. Seemed like a good idea. Due to shift linkage issues, (I believe was the problem,) they later went back to the shift on the trans top as it was with a 430 or 435 2 cylinders. which had worked well for years.

    420 Power Steering Fluid

    You can use regular GM power steering oil as used in 50's & 60's GM cars. It has a General Motors Saginaw steering pump, same basic style as used on the cars in the 50's. With the hood off, you can fill the reservoir.

    The F862R casting is the one you want for your G. The B# pivot casting is for a B. The axles are the same. The difference is in those pivot plates.     Your Governor/cam gear could be out of time if not correctly installed with the crank. If someone did not line up the 'dots' on the cam gear and governor gear when assembling, that would explain it. The governor will 'impulse' out of sequence if not timed.
