    I fought this problem for years even replaced the king pin thinking that was it. What fixed the issue for me was to widen the front axle by one bolt hole because the radius arm on uneven ground would come up and hit the generator. Looking at the picture you posted it looks like you might have...

    Tim, Item 17 you say Adjustable LH 3-PT Lift Arm (first 300/400 units only) do you mean the fact that the rod is threaded on one end? This one was and my serial number 4044 also has it. Gary (Or)

    I went to the Books Steam-up here in Oregon this last weekend and saw a every nicely restored 1939 9N serial #211. Don't know if this is someone from this sites tractor but would like to say I was impressed with how original it is. Gary (Or)

    Did anyone go to the Brooks Steam-up last weekend they are featuring Ford's this year. I am planning to go this coming weekend and was wondering if it was worth it. I do go most years but it seems like it is usually mostly green tractors. Gary (Or)

    I think I have sludge!

    I was going to say just pull the brass drain plug on the bottom of the filter housing but in checking the parts catalog it appears that 1950 and newer don't have them. My early 8N does. Gary (Or)
