    Clutch adjustments

i'm guessing you had a problem and decided the clutch was it. If you had the right parts and did it right it should be smooth. You didn't list a throw out bearing, is there not one? If there is and you didn't replace it, bummer. I've done a few clutches long time ago. What you are describing is...

    1800A won't start and I am at a lost?

I remember cars with points, tune up every 6 months or the gas mileage would start to drop. Let it go too long and if it ran it was just spewing gas out the tail pipe. I bought my 1850 on the spot after asking the man who owned it what he had done to it. Usual easy stuff, when I asked about the...

the driver didn't know how they put a battery in it and started it? Call the people that put a battery in it.

    Oliver 550 wont start

I don't think either would cause it to quit. Just guessing, the brush may have pulled something like a ground wire off. No gas wouldn't stop it from cranking.

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

neighbor across the field has a 1750 for sale. I thought it was the one I've seen him using, he has 2. Not sure I've seen this one running. Just a phone number. It's rusty most likely from sitting, but amazingly not oily. Tires have some more than ordinary cracks, but solid. Wide front, it...

    road grader implement

Need some advice on using one. I share a road, neighbor bought a new tractor with a grader implement. He's used it a few times with good results. He recently died and the son decided (I think his mom decided) to run it down the road, made it much worse. The rakes dug deep, but the "blades"...

Bought a 770 with something locking the engine or transmission.

Sure, but can it do what you need done? Small tractors are ok, I've used several, what I needed done was more than they were made to do, I still made them do it. Sometimes it's best to move on. The knowledge gain is more valuable than the money lost. I somehow threw a fan blade into my 1850...

did you pull the spark plugs when you turned the engine? It's supposed to be tight, not tight with plugs pulled. It's a good idea to video taking anything apart.

    Olivers so different

I've had the rod break, the dip stick maybe wrong. The person who first used it knew how to read it. People didn't used to be made of money or so I heard often as a boy. People did what they could with what they had. Replacing parts on older equipment is always best with part in hand comparing...

    $100 a horsepower

many things... inflation isn't a good thing unless you are the inflator. Inflation is why the largest voting block in any county at any time is always the poor, they never get ahead, get a little more, forced to spend a little more. Biggest reason I'd say is the market setting the price. Then...

New brakes on my 550 are locked up.. need some advise.

with old tractors and the make it work spirit of old farmers because I don't have money to waste I always start at, I wonder what they did. Pretty clever fix. Even though I'm not an old farmer I do have that spirit... comes with no money to waste. :)

Oliver OC3: Is ethanol free a must?

That's a sediment bowl, crap in the tank falls in the bowl. It has a fine screen on top that allows the gas to flow through. I suppose it will trap water, but it will pass through the screen if there's enough in it. My experience with liquids is what it will do to rubber and or gaskets. Bought...

    Starter, not engaging?

I have an 18v dewalt drill, it's been dropped a few times. Every now and then it won't do anything but a quick jump, keeps doing it till I pull the trigger right, maybe. I can get it to work first time if I tap the chuck straight on. Doesn't work if I hit the back of the drill. Sounds like you...

    M-S Carb Question

rebuilt mine, didn't work any better. Ran into someone who worked on them with decades of experience, he rebuilt it. One thing he said was the needle was loose, he wrapped teflon tape around the threads. I haven't touched it, works as good as I expect it will. An old trick to find leaks (gas) is...
