    best penatrating oil or solvent

    Trying to free up the collar on the drive shaft of my 309 planter. The collar should slide on the shaft for adjusting the 3 gears for seed spacing. It is frozen with years of no use. I heated it and have got it to move a bit, but need a good soaking solvent to work it loose. Any suggestions Gary

    Thanks for getting back. I do have a chart the large gear has 13 teeth and the small has 6. Guess I will try another setting. I used the small round seed plate. When I checked it dropped 18 to 20 seeds.

    Well I got the hub off and the bearings were shot. Finding a 3/4 in bore that would fit the original hub was a bit of a problem, plus the disc were really in bad shape. So I bought new 13-1/2 disc with bearings. The 5/8 bore worked fine by using a 5/8 bolt and lock nut to adjust spin for the...

    I have a large round I wondered if that would work. I also have a bean plate. I would that work? I would like to use the fert. hopper and auger have been rebuilt no rust at all so hope i can fix or replace the fert. disc thanks

    i tried getting the disc off from baskside large nut and it just spins with an impact drill. The caps are on with rivets i hate to cut them off until i know that bearings will fix the problem

    Thanks for the info, the caps are fastened with rivits. I trir getting the disc off from the back side large nut but it just spins, so it must be rusted off inside.
