    Hydraulic Piston Pump Rebuild Ford 3400

    Smack the middle of the plug with a hammer and punch to dish it, reducing the diameter. Should come right out. IIRC a new plug is in the rebuild kit.

    Rear seal

    Insert the sticks dry and loose making sure they go all the way in. Spray or squirt penetrating oil LIBERALLY to both sides of the cracks. The sticks will absorb the oil and swell up thereby sealing the cracks as intended.

    can the distributor on Ford 9n fit only one way?

    Hold distributor with rotor installed in position and start the bolts. Turn the dist with the rotor while pushing it back against the motor. When you hear/feel it go into place tighten the bolts and reassemble. Works every time.

    Hydraulic valve thread fittings

    Weatherhead supplies a crimp on hose end of the banjo type. TISCO has them. Your local friendly NH dealer would be the easiest place to get the hollow bolts and seals.

    You maybe can get a 1 3/8 rear pump from Kelly reasonable.

    Ford 4500 Power Steering Question

    4400-5000 have adjustment screws. 4500 has turnbuckle adjustment. You have worn out control linkage. Watch it while someone turns the steering wheel back and forth with motor stopped. Every place you see play will need to be rebushed/replaced to get power steering back.

    You guys are lucky to have your guns. Most people I see on the internut have lost all their guns in terrible boating accidents.

    Injectors? Injection pump shaft seals? Cold start in inlet manifold?

    Brakes on 93, 2460 Long tractor

    Longs have dry band/drum brakes. The 2000 series have about a 10 inch longer wheelbase than the original design. Perhaps geometric leverage is affecting the braking effort when turning.

    A broken strut in the pressure plate can cause the PTO clutch to drag.

    Take the pump back. Why would you want to go to all that trouble and possible grief to correct THEIR mistake?

    3 point will not go down

    Sounds like a stuck control valve spool. Remove the PTO shifter cover and look-see if the spool moves along with the quadrant handle. If not, pry it rearward with the quadrant in the lower position.

    Long 360

    You might find a year on the trans or diff housing or on top of the head. That will at least tell you when that part was poured.

    Ford 3000 3 pt lifts then falls

    Go to your dealer and ask him for the spacer to eliminate the double acting draft control. Then have him show/tell you how to install it. It is done externally and can be done in minutes. It will stop the "post driver effect".
