    F 40 Need info

My 56 TO 35 has a red “primer” (at least thats what im calling it) under the paint on the castings. In any sense, the F40 should be a flint metallic gray belly/engine. Even if it was swapped sheet metal onto a MH 50, it would be the “gold” belly and red sheet metal combo depending on the vintage...

    Massey 1135 3-point issue update

I had lift cylinders on an 1130 stick this bad before. Had to use loader to "pop" them but seemed to work ok after that. Would be real stiff first time moving them in the spring if not used often. Not sure whether it was in cylinders or in the rockshaft. Alot could be learned with...

    Mf 300 combine corn heads

What corn heads would fit on a MF300 combine (quick attach head)? Would a 4 row 30? head be too heavy for the machine like the 43 or 1143? Id like to find a 3 row 30? head but they seem nonexistent.

    MF1105 hydraulics

There is a priority valve in front of cab above engine I would look at if your fluids and filters are good. There is a cartridge filter in front of radiator and then a strainer screen that is under rear end above drawbar. The steering , brakes, and possibly pto/multi power run off low...

    Tractor identification? Need help.

Looks like a 165 gas with the perkins 4 cyl gas ( not common) due to the exhaust coming out the left side of the head. That would have been the only gas option where the exhaust comes out that side in a 4cyl. I dont think its a 3165 since it doesnt have a shuttle shift trans.

    1105 pops out of gear?

Had this exact situation on on 1135- there was a walnut from a critter underneath the linkage on top of transmission. Wouldn't let it go all the way in gear. Also worth pulling up a couple panels of the platform- the high/low linkage runs along the right side of the trans between the fuel tanks...

135 Oil Leak at Tach Line

This seal is somewhat difficult to install without it folding under- sometimes have to "stretch" the seal lips to get it to go over the end of the camshaft without folding under. I've spent lots of time cursing one of these seals. The end of the cam has basically no chamfer, so the seal has no...

cockshutt 40 blocks gas and diesel

Cockshutt 40 gas is sleeved, all 50 blocks were sleeveless. Rods may be interchangeable. The allis 262 rods are the same as cockshutt 40, but the pistons and sleeves between allis 262 and cockshutt 40 are not interchangeable: cockshutt used flat top pistons with combustion chamber in the head...

    TO35 Transmission, hyd, differential oil

A magnetic block heater on the side of the rear end housing works great. About $40 for one of these, you'll have almost that much wasted in the GL-1 oil you dump and replace.

    MF 40 broken rockshaft studds

If you lifted the scoop bucket all the way up and were in the constant pumping section, then the lift cylinder (mounted to the top cover by the studs that you now have broken off) bottoms out and dead heads the pump. These studs then get broken and the lift cylinder breaks off the bottom of the...

    MF200 loader cylinders

Hi all, Recently acquired a Massey 3165 with the #200 loader on it. Previous owner has different bucket curl cylinders on it, don't know if they're the correct length or not. Would someone be able to get me a few dimensions off theirs? I am looking for the following sizes: Collapsed length...

    Cockshutt 40 input shaft seals

Without much luck I haven't found a whole lot of information about what seals are on the transmission input shaft for a 52 Cockshutt 40 with live power. It must have seals inside the snout coming off the front of the transmission, and needle bearings supporting the outside shaft. Anyone have any...

    MF 65

Sounds like a previous blown headgasket/cracked head may have burnt a flame path across the top of the sleeve. Check tops of sleeves for any signs of the lip being eroded low. A nice flat hone stone works well to determine this.

    Oil Filler Neck

It's normal, engines that aren't ran often and for long periods of time will build up condensation inside them. The more you run it, the more air that goes in and out of your crankcase breather, and when it's hot all the evaporated water inside the crankcase is moved out with the air. Same...
