Removing the lift shaft. Welding in place
I faced a similar problem a few years ago. I took the top cover, complete with frozen lift arms, to the machine shop, and we cut one lift arm off on the bandsaw. I ended up buying new cross-shaft and new lift arms. Not cheap, but good for another 50 years. My supplier went through three shafts...- GeoffNS
