850 Stuck Clutch after Rebuild.
Interesting issue. Was the engine labored or anything while it was running/smoking? If the clutch was dragging and burning, you would think the engine would notice that drag? I second what JMOR said, if the tractor is in neutral the clutch and all those parts attached are stuck to the flywheel...- Getnbetter

Thanks guys - The kit I got when I did that came with both seals and no instructions so at the time it made sense since they fit well into those groves. Maybe I had an extra beer that night in all my excitement. I do have a manual but clearly missed that oil return grove page. People...- Getnbetter

861 oil leak between engine and adapter plate
Looks like its leaking in front of the mating plate. Assuming it is just the side seals of the rear cap, you can do that easily. No reason not to try it and see if you can fix it. Drop the oil pan and then take the rear cap off (just two bolts), the side seals will come out with it...- Getnbetter

Found that the clutch was not stuck. I dont think its possible to put that clutch disk in backwards, if backward the friction surface would not ever touch the flywheel. I think the issue was the bolts that ride on the release bearing were not adjusted the same which would cause the plate to...- Getnbetter

Hi Farmer, I'm actually working through some issues with a engine rebuild that I did over the nnalert winter. Primary issue was the major leak of oil out the weep hole on the bell housing. That is clear evidence that the rear main seal is not working well. Sounds like you have oil dripping...- Getnbetter

So - I managed to split the tractor and pulled the clutch off. It was not stuck and I dont think this plate can go in backwards, if it went in backwards the friction disc would never touch the flywheel. So my plan of simply using calipers on the journals and ordering what might be the correct size bearings is not a good idea? :) Actually I noticed a couple of tiny sections on two journals that I could feel with my fingertip so was hoping to find a shop around my area that can help with that...- Getnbetter
