    Pump retaining mark was checked by the rebuilder, and pump was also calibrated on a test stand according to the pump rebuilder (I asked this questions a few times to make sure).

    thanks so much for this information! I was able to make a template and found that the initial timing mark was a few degrees off from the 48.5 that you specified. I scribed a new mark, and will now clean and reassemble the pump and hopefully this will be the end of my timing issues. I'll let you...

    This is extremely helpful! i pulled the pump and it is apart, so I can easily measure the mark on the weight retainer first, and then air time later if unsuccessful or to double check. It is a little tough to see in your cartoon, the 48.5 degrees is measured relative to what?
