    I run a PHD on my 8N. If I were you I would keep the ORC. If (and that could read WHEN) the auger gets stuck by a rock or a root, you can use a bar or pipe wrench(with tractor turned off) to turn the PTO shaft backward to free it up. Not an easy task if you have to remove the shaft to do it...

    Awesome to hear. I researched as much as I could to be sure I would be happy. As far as the regen, I work for the Chev dealer, so it's not new to me. I'm just thrilled I don't have to buy DEF fluid for it.

    I feel your pain. I finally got tired of buying a lead acid 6V every 2 years and bought an AGM Optima 6V. 800 crank amps. A pinch longer than a lead acid, but will fit w/o modification.     8N Electrical Issue

    Yes, like mine. All the tests passed, had a spare parts tractor and having tried everything else I could think of, I swapped out the resistor and hasn't had an issue since. Especially since it ran fine with the jumper. For me, that is my new definitive test for a resistor problem. Pretty cheap too.

    Sounds like what I just went through with my front mount. Try a jumper across the resistor. If it's happy with the jumper, replace the resistor. Don't run it too long that way to save the coil. But it's a cheap test to eliminate the resistor as the source.

    Yeah, I get that. But I still couldn't figure out why if that was the issue, it wouldn't spark with the resistor bypassed. I guess it's just not "computerized" enough. I started when nothing had a computer, but that was many moons ago. My memory banks are archived and a little hard to access...
