AC225 converted to DC with Choke.

Certainly, By the way I am not the expert by any means on anything except a little on stick welding home projects like implements, etc. But with regard to capacitors, please be careful, if not done just right you could have some nasty results with the caps at startup with some lively pops. I...

AC225 converted to DC with Choke.

Tom, The good diodes were out of old welders capable of at least 250A and the choke was to be a replacement for a welder that was never picked up or paid for. I remember that not all of the diodes were the same but he said they were all good for at least 250A . So I got very, very lucky to find...

AC225 converted to DC with Choke.

Jim, I just happened to find the diodes and choke at a welding repair shop about 6 years ago, a customer never paid for the repair I guess. Well the choke is the heart of the system to say the least. I was floored when I first struck the arc with the 7018 on that upgrade. That choke is...

AC225 converted to DC with Choke.

It has been a while since last posting circa 2017. Been preoccupied I guess? Anyway, thought I should share the DC conversion pics before I close it up. I am able to use it secured to the trailer with the generator for welding fence H braces. Very nice arc with 225A Bridge diodes and the lovely...

    Run Away Jubilee

I installed the parking brakes on both sides from Red Rock and it is great! Had to do some modifiations to the right side going around my Live hydraulic dump to tank but glad I did it! I was in pain doing the reach behind low drills to lock the original brakes in the past. Don't miss them! Greg

    3-Pt. Subsoiler

Hobo, that is great stuff, just what I was hoping to see. I may need to do that in the future. What I was doing recently is putting down some grey pvc for the gate opener solar panel run. I used the subsoiler to break the top grass and dry top soil. I remember now that the phone wire that...

    Live Hydraulics on Ford 9N

And yes I have Zane's position control. BTW, the filter is suction type from the trans belly up to the filter an int the live hyd pump. You may not need live hyd per say but just wanted to share in case you have an interest of not having to loose hyds when you apply the clutch. Regards, Greg

    Live Hydraulics on Ford 9N

I got with TOH and bought his pump/filter/remote quick coupler kit. He helped with the check valve before the test port connection. He helped with the open center valve that was fed directly from the new live hyd pump that was belt driven from a special front pulley adapter. The output of...

    8N and boom pole

That is where my hydraulic top link comes in handy. With weights added to the front bumper all is well. I have a longer boom pole and a standard shorter one too. I went through the pain of live hydraulics. Greg
