    IH 3121 Backhoe Controls not working

    Check the pressure relief valves. I once had a piece of paper towel or shop rag stuck in the valve holding it open.

    On my international 3444 with a 3141 hoe, there is a push/pull valve on the right fender to select either power steering or swing cylinder. When I forget to pull it up the lift and boom cylinders will still move only if the swing valve is pulled. I would guess you may have similar valve.

    I should add that my 3444 has two hydraulic pumps, one mounted on crank in front of radiator and one on right side of engine probably driven off cam. There is a control valve on right fender, pull up to power swing cylinders, push down for power steering.

    Check the frame and "bird cage" for rust issues. I've had my 66 convert for 33 years. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

    tight fitting pistons

    Similar issue with piston sleeve rebuild kit for a 134 red tiger. After pressing sleeves in, the pistons felt tight. Too tight to pull feeler gage. I didn't want to hone (new sleeves had a nice finish and measered concentric and true). Old pistons measured .001 smaller and ring lands in good...

    splitting a 2444 with 2050 loader and 3121 backhoe

    I changed clutch in my 3444 with 3141 hoe a few yrs ago. I first dismounted backhoe attachment (4 pins and 2 hoses) and set it aside. Then put Jack stands under frame rails and removed bolts from rails to axle housing. Disconnect hydraulic hoses and wires bell housing bolts and roll rear end...

    ford 172 sleeves

    I put new sleeves in a 134, they were flush with deck. Block had counter bore to match step on top of sleeve. I presume 172 would be the same.

    Does power steering work? On my 3444, the selector valve on fender sends power to steering or swing. I think pump on engine supplies pressure to selector valve
