    Mig Welder

On really thin metal you have to stitch weld the metal. You make a lot of small tack welds and let the metal cool to prevent heat build up which can cause burn through and warping.

    9N stumbles when giving gas

Here is the info I used off of N tractor forum: I go ahead and put the econ jet in there. So far, all of the carbs I have rebuilt were already threaded for the jet. If not, it's a simple matter to run a 8-32 tap in the econ hole. Jet sizes supplied in the kits seem to vary widely in hole size...

    9N stumbles when giving gas

I had the same problem after rebuilding my 8n carb with a TSC kit. Thanks to this site I determined the jet sizes were wrong, and after drilling them out by hand with a pin vise mine runs great, starts right up in 20 deg weather with very little choke and it's still 6 volt!

    Woodstove help (lengthy)

SS melts at 1400-1510 iron at 1535 so stainless is probably not a good idea. That's 1400-1510 deg Celsius, which is 2500-2700 deg Fahrenheit

    OT: which 12 guage?

I have both, the 870 is probably better built, but the mossberg is a little smoother and has a few plastic parts. Which to buy depends on the price, I paid less than $200 each for mine used. It's hard to wear either one out unless you shoot competition. Greg
