    Why would straight 30 be the same as 20w50? My understanding is that Straight 30 would have more viscosity than 20w50 at cold temperatures but would have less viscosity at warmer temperatures. At warm temperatures, straight 30 and 10w30 should be the same.

    I'm glad I didn't take your bet. You were correct about the engine. Also, it does not really use oil and plugs are sooty, not oily. I leaned it out a while back. Need to check the plugs again.

    Hey Folks- Welp. I have the answer to the question. Here are my starting numbers: Cold engine with 10w30 oil: 500 rpm 10 psi, 800 rpm 15 psi, 1200 rpm 15 psi. I allowed the engine to warm up for 10 minutes running at 800 rpm then checked numbers again: 500 rpm 0 psi, 800 rpm 3 psi...
