    Where? Internal? Should I be able to pull it off after taking the snap ring out and bolt and washer? No luck Even attempting to pry it off gently

    Nope. That's fine. Pulled drive belt from front pully, PTO, turns by hand, but very tight. Almost seems like the bearing, but, I don't know $hit about these engines.

    Jim. ME Sorry, JD 316- The deck belt is what came off. It got under the deck and wrapped around the center spindle. The PTO was engaged and cutting fine. Now the clutch or PTO(?) will not engage and I can't turn it by hand. What do I check? Thanks.

    While cutting today the PTO belt became wrapped up under the deck around the center blade. I didn't notice right away, but I shut down the PTO got the belt untangled and re set, now the PTO will not engage and I can not turn it by hand, This is a front mount PTO. Everything was fine prior to...

    checked safety switches all seem to working fine. As I said it was running and cutting then shut down, re started but no PTO and no moving off neutral. So, ????

    It's a Onan twin rebuilt less than 300hrs ago. Not familiar with the J.D. so how do I check the alternator? Voltage back to the battery is 13v I don't have a digital VM so,,,

    The tractor was running fine, cutting fine, then suddenly it quit. I placed the gear selector in neutral it started right up, on moving the selector off neutral the engine quit. Also, with the selector in neutral when attempting to engagae the PTO the engine quit. I was able to move the tractor...
