    OT gas can flakes

If I'm worried about it, I strain through a coffee filter. I have used a paper towel as a filter many times as well. You can buy a large galv funnel with a brass screen. Just lay the material on the bottom of the funnel and pour away.

And then, what about cooling? You will immediately run into overheating.

Still amazed with these old ford tractors

$1000 for mine in 1987. It has earned it's keep many, many times over.

    I'm buying it: 1951 Ford 8N

Agree with Jim. Your tractor will not start or run better than with the stock 6V system. The most you're out is a new set of points.

    Dearborn Plow

We are VERY upfront with everyone: "We do not borrow; we do not loan." If a neighbor asks to borrow our tiller, I may offer to just do the tilling myself. I broke this long-standing rule several years ago and loaned a cement mixer to a longtime friend who had mixed with me many times, so I...

    What's the purpose?

When I bought our 2N in 1987, and for years after, I was flexible enough to, from the seat, reach down, engage the pawl and set the brakes on both sides. I can no longer do that. However, after shutting the tractor off, dismounting and from standing on the ground depressing each brake and...

Replacement solenoid for my ‘49 8N

There is only one thing worse than a 12 volt conversion >IN MY OPINION<: That would be the elimination of the neutral-start-lockout. This crosses the line from just unnecessary, to dangerous and irresponsible. >IN MY OPINION<:

    What's the purpose?

Over the years I have trailered our 2N to different mowing locations. After loading on the trailer, shutting off engine, placing in reverse, I would dismount and walk to each side, pressing and locking both brakes with the pawl. They hold very well! Then tie down.

    Installing a turbocharger on a 9 n ford

Not to be "Debbie Downer", but it is my contention that MOST N owners have no idea of what terrible condition their motor is in. Just like the "12 volt overhaul", the idea of adding performance modifications is akin to white-washing gravestones. Most Ns in use are shot and owners are blissfully...
