Yes, one entire casing, drain it all at once, fill at once. Hydraulics are separate. 13 gallons of 80w 90 will work, you can use thinner but it may leak.

    Classic or AG JD paint?

Do what you like best. Reading is a great way to acquire knowledge, but you need to apply that knowledge. Your tractor only looked new for a short period of time after coming off the assembly line, then every owner after added their own history to it, you included. I would suggest doing...

Setting a post in difficult ground

Set the post using clean gravel as backfill. 30 inches May work, depends on your frost line, but for a privacy fence I wouldnt worry about it too much. Drainage around the post is important, hence gravel.

The 4030 will give you better hydraulics, but given the size of those tractors it may not really...

    Wet wooden steps

A good exterior paint with a couple handfuls of sand mixed in. Repeat as needed. Anything you glue, nail, staple or paint onto wood will eventually need to be replaced or repaired. Or pour some concrete, set some stone, etc.

Mower suggestions, maintain 20 acres prairie

If its a native prairie contact local extension offices. You probably shouldnt mow it, a controlled burn may be more appropriate.
