    1210(1212) Case vs 770 Case

I would say that these are total different tractors beside HP. A 770 provide much more comfort for the operator where a DB1212 is more 'spartan'. One pro for the DB1212 is that they are rather cheap to maintain, at least at this side of the pond. I would say, if budget is thight, i'd take a...

    Strange 4894?

Stumbling on a 4894 with odd spec: Cummins LTA10 engine and 20F/4R transmission? https://www.purplewave.com/auction/210217/item/HX9528/Case_IH-4894-Ag_Tractor-Tractor-Minnesota Can someone shed some light on this?

    Motor overhaul case 1494

IIRC it was ~2k euro's, parts & labour. Took me about 6 weeks, due to working in spare hours in the evening.

    David Brown 885

Probably the best DB build, alongside the 990. Though little buggers standing hard abuse. Engine should start right up, no excuse. They are typically good cold-starters. Hydraulics can act up, but mostly clean out control valve solves 90% of problems. Tranny is bullet and idiot proof. Clutch...

David Brown decal on a 1370

Here in Europe I have seen some 90-series with a small David Brown decall. I find it funny to see how some people look at the DB involvement in the Case scene. I'm also active on David Brown forums and there is sometimes a slight anti-Case sentiment amongst 'true David Brown enthousiast'...

Beefing up front axle on 1494

I assume you have 2wd? No heavier carrier and axle available. But what about converting to a 4wd axle without the driveshaft? Have a 1494 4wd myself, mainly used for loading bales. Frontaxle (carraro) holds up wel.

    Case 1194 won t move-hydraulic oil leak

BTDT. Fools you once, not twice. By the way, I'm not familair with the term "pay dirt", what does this mean? Seems to me ram-cylinder of the drawbar hitch is leaking. Can be that its a failed o-ring between the manifold and the ram itself. The manifold is mounted in front of the ram near the...

    Case 1194 won t move-hydraulic oil leak

Maybe as silly question, but can it be that the creeper lever is stuck between 'creeper' and 'normal'? The sudden oil leakage is kind of strange... Can you be more precisely where the oil is dripping out?

    1490, 1494 engine transplant to 1690

If I recall correctly, it did.

    1490, 1494 engine transplant to 1690

Have seen it the other way: Planting a 1690 engine in front of a 1490 tranny. Was straight bolt on except for inner/outer driveshaft which had to be changed.

    2590 mirrors

I have made my own mirror arms attached to the A-pillar of the cab. Much better view then the original mirrors.

1690 head is off and for sale

Over here in europe the 1690 didn't had that bad reputation. Only the crankshaft was prone to seize due to poor oilpump design. Never heard of breaking crankshaft. Parts are readily available, at least here in Europe. Make sure the crank is proper condition, (no scoring / seizure), it's the only...
