We needed the tractor so I rebuilt the box with a new ball screw. Now just need to remember to be gentle on the wheel. And make gradual 3 point turns while carrying smaller loads. Backing up also helps. -

I looked at the power steering but would prefer just to use a beefier box. I am also considering trying to match up a Kubota Box. My neighbor has a small Kubota 18?? with a loader and forks and has never had trouble with the steering. We've carried around some heavy loads with his machine. -

Thank you, Aaron, for taking the time to compare the boxes and describe the differences. A wedge shaped shim sounds doable. And a slightly higher steering wheel wouldn't be a deal breaker. Assuming my existing steering wheel will fit the SGB2000 steering shaft. (?) Do you have the pitman arm... -

Sorry for the delayed reply. Other projects have been taking priority... Aaron, Can you give me the mounting hole layout for the SGB-2000 box? And an over all length of the column? Box flange to top of steering shaft. Will the 186D pitman arm splines and taper fit the SGB-2000 box? If not... -

Broke my steering box again. Apparently welding the tubes didn't help and may have even contributed to the repeat failure. I haven't taken it apart to check. It worked fine for a while so feel like I rebuilt correctly. There was still a fair bit of play but not much could be done about that... -

Broke the steering box trying to turn the front wheels with too much load in the bucket. Replaced the steering shaft and recirculating ball screw. The balls looked like they got spit out from between the tube halves so decided to have the re-circ tubes TIG welded together in a few spots. No... -

Pressure washing a motor
I don't have pressure washer but I have my outside faucet plumbed for hot water. I tie a bag over the air cleaner. Sray the (cold) engine with a 50% Simple Green solution, let it sit for a while (don't let dry), then spray with the hot water. Air blow dry and then spray the whole engine with... -

Thanks for the tire link, Winston. It looks like I'll need some new front wheels since one of them is rusted through from the Sodium Chloride. I can add up to 2.5" width to the outside of the fronts and stay inside the bucket width. The 4 lug wheels are somewhat unique so finding a wheel might... -

Thank you, Winston. There was a double roll pin in there. The front axle appears OK (turns and drives OK in 2 wheel) so not sure what would have sheared the pin. The tires are filled with calcium chloride. I'm thinking of using a 6mm x 40mm steel spiral pin instead... -

Just purchased and no power to front wheels. Lifted the front tires with the loader and rotated them by hand with no grinding or catching. Seemed free. Just got it cleaned up a bit so no further investigation at this time. Thanks for any ideas and methods to figure out what the trouble is. -Hein
