    Help identifying some lights

Thanks Jim. Good thought but i don't think they were fogs because they are double sided amber with an 1156 bulb on each end. I thinking some type of marker but not sure from what

    Help identifying some lights

Hi everyone. While cleaning up my father's estate I found these lights in a bucket with 8n parts. I know they're not from the tractor but I think they're really cool. I'm guessing he collected them with the thought of using them on his tractor. Does anyone recognize what they're from? He was a...

    Hydraulics maximum load

my recently rebuilt pump with new piston and cylinder will easily lift my ballast box that is over 800lbs. I weighed each piece before it went in and scaled the box when i built it. I would suggest trouble shooting and fixing your tractor as the others suggested before i would modify an...

hi all. im trying to finish my 3 year 8n tractor overhaul. last problem im having is the arms will always lift to full height then drop back down to set position no matter what spot i set the quadrant lever to while in position control. for example if i pull the lever up 1/3 its lifts to full...

    Transmission inspection

Heres the part # from napa that I got. Similar to above...I used a little anaerobic sealer on the plug, tapped it in then set it with the female end of a 3/8 extension. Hitting the male end to flatten the plug a little. No pressure on it so it just needs to stay in place.

    Transmission inspection

My 8n leaked oil from the shift rail of the tranny and sherman combo after rebuild and switching to utf (red dye added) from gear oil. I had to go back and install the Welch plug and replace the combo top cover to stop the leaks. I had drive a 70 mile round trip to find the 75 cent plugs at...

    8N Governor issue?

I had a similar problem last year while rebuilding my tractor. Idle to full throttle in two clicks. After chasing the problem for a week on two tractors with 2 rebuilt carbs and opening up the governor several times I figured out the angle on the butterfly valve linkage ball was slightly...

Sherman combo shift rail oil leak questions.

Hi all. I fixed my previous tranny shift rail leak with a 3/4 Welch plug. Ran the tractor and found oil leaking from the sherman shift rail directly below it. I have another cover that I believe is the "new" style that has longer rail slides that get capped with Welch plugs. Questions....#1 has...

    8n shift rail leaking oil

It's utf with red dye. I work at a golf course and ive learned to dye clear oils. Had a guy blow a hose on a greens mower 6 years ago and continued mowing until it pumped all the oil out. Cost thousands of dollars and took a few years for that grass to be fully healthy again. Said he didn't...
