    2020 value

I might add that price depends on the local market. 50-60 HP tractors go for a premium around here but bigger ones are often cheaper to buy. Go 150 miles in any direction from my house and the bigger ones gain value again for larger acreage.

    2020 value

I bought a '69 with a 520 loader over a year ago and paid $7500. One of the sleeve packing rings failed this past winter and dumped water into the crankcase so I did a complete overhaul with help from several members of this forum (which cost about $1800 in parts and my time). My tractor had...

    Couple of break-in questions

Nope, diesel. Cut about 10 acres today for hay and put 4 hrs on the engine (that's with 30 wt). Lots of power now - the old girl must have really been tired before the overhaul.

    Couple of break-in questions

I put straight 30 wt in it today and ran between 1800 and 2500 tonight while mowing. Definitely has more power than before (good thing, huh?) and runs like a top. I'm happy with the work, hopefully it will hold together and last.

    Couple of break-in questions

Well, I ran it about 45 mins at 1500 rpm so will kick it up to 2500 when I shred today and of course, I'll have to run it at full speed to cut and bale this week. I figured 600 or so was considered idling so have kept it higher than that but haven't run it much at full speed. Thx, H

    Couple of break-in questions

Rather than hijack the other thread, I figured best to start another. I finished my rebuild on the 2020 and ran the initial recommended break-in intervals using plain SAE 10w oil. I then hooked up the shredder and mowed almost an hour tonight in tall grass at 1500 rpm in 5th gear. Tractor ran...

    2020 Clutch question

Thought I would update this thread and give some closure. I split the tractor and discovered the clutch plate was not installed backwards but it was the wrong part - at least that is how it appeared. The new disk had a different spline depth in the center and contacted the pressure plate when...

    4020 gas - time for a change

I've rebuilt a lot of Carter and Zenith carbs for older vehicles and industrial engines; the two top problems I've seen are wrong jet size and wrong float height. For example, most kits for the YF carb on the Willys 134 4-cylinder Jeep engine come with a larger jet intended for the 6-cyl truck...

Are we living in a rainforest ?

We're in the same boat - I live in New Braunfels. About 1" rain or so over 5 months. No grass for hay, 2" cracks in the ground, 103 degrees, animals are moving more than usual - God knows what August will be like...

630 LP No Compression after head rebuild

If the crank is out of time with the valves, there will be little or no compression.

    2020 Clutch question

I got the clips back on and the pressure plate is lifting a good 3/16" but still won't shift so I'll split it and see what's up; maybe I did put the plate in backwards.

    2020 Clutch question

It is a single stage. I pulled the return clips so I could get a wrench on the adjustment screw head but did not reinstall them prior to checking engagement. I don't have the manual in front of me but IIRC, it says to set the finger height to 2.102" from the flywheel, within .010 tolerance...

    2020 Clutch question

What would happen if I inadvertently left the return clips off while I made the height adjustments? The pressure plate would not release, right? Bottom line is that I should have checked proper finger height when the tractor was apart so this might be my Memorial Day project.

    2020 Clutch question

Reckon it's possible but I recall specifically looking at that when I assembled it - although anything's possible...
