How to polarize a MF 165 generator?
Thank you for the reply. The generator part number is 509057M91 and I can't seem to find any information on whether that is type A or Type B. Based on the screenshot you provided I found that manual online and I see that even if it was type B, I did it wrong because it says disconnect the field...- iamjohnny45

I have a MF165 Continental gas and I just installed a new generator. What is the correct polarization procedure? These tractors are 12v negative ground. Sadly I think I fried mine. Bizarre coil spark issue
I tore apart my shop and manged to find the old condenser which I luckily didn't throw out. I cleaned up the points which were blackened from the arcing and I then Re-installed and re-gaped the points (.020).
