How to add gear oil to steering case if steering wheel is welded to the steering column?
I was recently gifted a 1952 Ford 8N, Ser. # 410,998, that was last started more than 30 years ago. Biggest issue, so far, was the 6"-8" steering wheel backlash. Pulled left-side sector cover plate of the steering gear housing, expecting a slosh of old gear oil ... got about 1/2 cup of greasy...- icehose
