    Thanks yeall. I really appreciate you breaking it down for me. I figured there would be problems, but was hopeful anyway. I have a few acres of tall grass and fireweed I bought and am trying to figure out how to break the ground with my equipment. Anyhow thx again.

    I have 4 n model tractors but I don't know a whole lot about them. The one I've had the longest has a high/low shifter down by the clutch pedal. Is that what you mean? No the pto is not live I don't think.

    Yes, I realize that I could probably leave all 3 of these parts out and it would run ok, but I would like to get it the way it was suppose to be as much as possible.     OLD simplicity walk behind garden tractor drive/reverse belt

    I have one of these with a tiller on the back, and I could never quite get the belts to work right either. I have a hard time stopping mine. Really well built machine though.
