    Wander if the government is trying to get all the old tractors out of the mix. This would increase sales in their $ sign eyes help the economy. Japan does this with autos, tractors, motor bikes. The inspection old older models in Japan is very high so it encourges people to keep newer items.

    Today tackhammertime, farmallhfan, and tractordude worked on the A and found that the head gasket was bad. The water and oil was mixing together on the bottom side of the gasket between oil returns and water jackets. It is back together and running with no water in the oil. I think the total...

    Thanks guys, we will tear the tractor down after the 1st of the year. I am going to fix it right thenI know what I have. Also farmallhfan thinks if I change the front bearing in the transmission it will ride a little quiter. Plus my son wants the tractor when I am through with it.

    Last night we lowered to water level below the head and this afternoon we pulled the oil plug and drained a full coffee mug full of antifreeze from the oil pan. From what I understand this means it is not a head gasket problem right? How much do we have to tear down if it is the sleeve seals...
