    I've got mine down to about 3750 with 15.5x38s on 14" wide wheels. There are a few places to shed weight yet but you gota be creative. I really think if you want to bad enough you can get it real close to 3500. the numbers I speak of are without driver

    Hauling tires from Princeton pull to Lincoln or Columbia...

    Jeff, where are the tires located? I'm 1 1/2 hrs from princeton in IL and am leaving sat morning for Mendon NE to pick up some wheels for myself. If I can be any help let me know.

    tire size?

    without knowing what the tracks are like that you are pulling on I would suggest going with the 15.5s Reason being, you said STOCK engine. The 15.5s will keep you geared a little lower than the taller 14.9s. JMO

    Gear reduction starter for AC

    I run a D17 with near 12:1 compression and have a gear reduction starter on it. Got mine from HI-TORQUE in california. Great folks and will build one for your tractor if they dont already have one that will fit it.

    JD G. Opening a can of worms.

    Dad has a D john deere that he never could get to run smoothly as if one cylinder wasnt firing at idle or no load. It would settle down and fire both under load. always wondered if maybe play in timing gears would cause it idk. Good luck!!!

    When and where are the pulls within a 100 mile or so of Effingham IL. I do know Beckemeyer the 1st, Jerseyville the 2nd, Stewardson the 15th, and Philpot KY the 29th. Anything else? Thanks

    whos goin to Jerseyville sunday?

    been sayn all year we were gonna make at least one of their pulls this year and I think this will be the one. Hope its a good turn out, we're bringn for sure 3 maybe 4 tractors.

    salems is saturday not sure of time but starts in the a.m. clarksburg up by shelbyville is having one saturday also. Sigel was scheduled to have theirs sunday but just got word they rescheduled to the 22nd.
