    39 9n bad cam gear

    Ok, my understanding was the 39-42 press on gear needed to be pressed on with a special indexing jig with the cam out since there were no splines or keyway for alignment. Believe me, I'm looking for an easy out here but didn't think it was that simple.

    So my 9N quit running last fall. No spark led me to discover distributor wasn't turning. Pulled apart to find pressed bakelite cam gear with missing teeth. What are my options here? Guessing the path of least resistance will be to replace the cam and gear with a bolt on gear? Do I need to...

    All the radiator caps I see for 9n's are for a conventional neck like you would expect to see on a car. What've I got going on here? Thanks for any help!

    Thanks everyone for the replies. As luck would have it I got buried in work and by the time I called the guy back (tuesday, didn't get home till 9 monday), it was sold. Not complaining, in this economy I'm just glad to be working. Thanks again, Kevin
