    They did not just lay everyone off from the Baltimore plant. They retired, transferred or took buy outs. I used to stamp the steel in Mansfield Ohio. Now I am at GM Arlington assembly. Work with quit a few people from the Baltimore plant.

    Machines vs Manual

    At the GM Arlington assembly plant a large SUV rolls of the line every 55 seconds. Three shifts 6 days a week, we build 420 a shift and they sell like crazy. Especially export to China, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

    My daughter has a 16 chevy trax, base model came without cruise. I bought a new steering wheel put it on and now has cruise for $250. She loves it 30 mpg. Of course I am a 20 year GM employee so she got it for less then $20,000.

    Question for The Chevy Truck Experts

    Are you sure it is electrical, stepping on the brake pulls vacuum from the engine. I would be looking at vacuum first. It would just be a 3500 as the 3500hd didn't start till 2007.
