    Yes... I place small craft magnets in almost everything I have apart. Many applications come with magnets, perhaps on the drain bung, and it is nice to see those metal filings trapped and not circulating. If the case is aluminium, you can clean carefully and silicon the magnet into a safe place...

    Circa 1982 John Deere 4440 - Clicking heard but starter won't spin when hot. After sitting for, say, a half hour it starts normally. Starter armature maybe? Thank you in advance for any input.
