    Need help wiring a new alternator

    You need a GM one wire alternator it will need a 1/2 in pully. probably have to make a mount for it. Then just run the one wire to the positive on the battery or starter.

    I think the whole shaft has to come out the top. It probably is rusted together a lot of penetrating oil Deep Creep works good is going to be needed.

    John Deere 457 baler gate

    Today I bled the hydraulic lines, wired the connectors at the switch, replaced the connectors on the switch. Switched the hydraulic lines to another scv. no change . I talked to the service manager at JD and he said that single switch controls the monitor so it has to be a broken wire.

    I am working on a 457 and the gate indicator started showing the gate open when closed. I put a new microswitch in and adjusted it and it still shows the gate open. When open the gate open shows proper and no problem but as soon as it closes it starts beeping and shows it still open. checked...

    I should have said I replaced the lift pump at the time I changed the oil. Because the tractor Quit running. No fuel to injector pump.

    My 1520 quit the other day there was about 2 gallons of fuel and oil mixed in the crankcase. The lift pump had went out so I changed it and the oil. Used it today plowing about an hour and the oil level was a qt over and smelled of diesel. Could the umbrella seal in the injection pump of gone...

    For the com I use Low viscosity hytran works great even in cold weather. John saeli told me to use hytran with a gallon of 80 wt gear lube

    I have vinyl frame windows and in the winter they don't seal well. Years ago I learned that the plastic film from Duck is the best. It dropped my heating bills by 20% So every year I put it up when it starts to blow. By the way it was -5 here in KY and my house is 70* with a 18,000 btu propane...

    I had a 69 1/2 ton 318 power nothing LOL very little rust Kids called it ole Bully. Someone put a sheet of 5/16 steel in the bed as a bed liner. Transmission finally went on it didn't have time or money sold it to someone who did. Sorry I did

    advice -Storing tractor outdoors

    Take vertical muffler off put a tin can over pipe to prevent mice. grease and oil everything. Cover with a canvas tarp wrap around under tractor don't make a tent to trap moisture. will be fine
