Where to find decent prices on a filter for Ford 735 loader

Can you retrofit the later filter on an earlier tractor? From the parts catalog it looks like the setup is fairly similar though the part numbers for the relief valve parts are all different.

    1968 Ford backhoe

Looks like a 4500 Ford. If so, they have an interesting power steering setup with the ram and control valve mounted together and a lever within a lever setup all right in front there. When the pivot pin wears you get slop in the linkages and its get wonky to steer. There's an adjustment on the...

Help me identify a Ford backhoe.

Not a 4500. 3500 or 3550 I think. That's a 735 loader, 4500 uses a 740. Tell tale is the hydraulic suction from the bottom of the loader frame and the power steering ram. 4500 has the hydraulic suction from a tank in the front of the hood and the power steering ram is in the front. 3500 uses the...

SOS 4000 Rear Axle Swap & Spare Parts

Just picked up a 4000 parts tractor with an SOS trans to use for parts on my 4500 and I'm curious what of the rear axle is the same. I know the ratio is different, but it looks like that is in the ring & pinion and the planetaries are the same - is this correct? Assuming this is the case...

    3500 3 Point to 4500?

3500 has a PTO, 4500 doesn't. The part 4000 does, but it's a SOS trans so not going to be of much use. I can't think of where I'd really need a PTO though. If I really needed on I'd probably just run it hydraulically since I've got the big pump and hoses run back aft already.

    3500 3 Point to 4500?

Thanks. My books do say the 4000 cylinder is slightly bigger - 3.1 vs 3" or something similar - probably not that much difference in lift capacity. I found a decent deal on a parts 4000 locally with a 3 point so I think I'll just go that route. The parts tractor I'm looking at is a SOS...

    T340 Track roller lubricant?

My manual calls for multi-purpose gear lube - "sulfur-phosphorous type gear lubricant meeting the requirements of IH spec B-22, grade 132H EP or Sulfur-chlorine-lead type gear lubricate meeting the requirements of IH spec B-22 grade 80H EP, 90H EP or 140H EP or...

Help with value of Case 580B parts machine value.

So yes, certain parts may be worth a bunch, but if and only if you find someone who wants them. Looking at asking prices on ebay, craigslist, etc only tells part of the story - that's asking price but doesn't mean anyone actually is willing to pay that. If it's a fairly uncommon machine parts...

    3500 3 Point to 4500?

Will the rear end cover/3 point lift assembly from a 3500 fit on a 4500? Both are 1967 w/ 3 cylinder diesel. The 3500 is a SOS trans, 4500 is a 4x4 manual reversing type. I'm thinking of selling the 3500 to reduce the collection a bit and since the 4500 will do a bit more, but the one thing...

3500 SOS Trans Cooling & Backhoe Hydraulic Pump Question

I've got a 1967 3500 Ford with the SOS trans and fitted with 735 loader & 723 backhoe. Couple questions that I'm lumping into one thread - 1) The tractor does not currently have a trans cooler on it. How hard is it to fit one? As near as I can tell it came this way from the factory - no...

    backhoe

Probably next best thing to impossible to find an original valve, but hydraulics are fairly universal (generalizing) and it's not too hard to cobble on a valve off something else. I've got a 555B (IIRC) valve on my 723 after the original suffered a cracked body. Doesn't fit the stock brackets...

    Ford 4500 TLB parts questions

If you have a lathe why not just machine new ones? Wouldn't think it would be that hard, certainly easier than welding and machining.

    4500 Injection Pump Issue

Where is the regulating valve? Is that the one in the transfer pump cover? Is there a way to force the plunger out to verify they're free without tearing apart the entire hydraulic head? The rollers and shoes move freely, but I'm not sure if that's moving the plungers or not. IIRC on DB2...
