    B Farmall Zenith Carb

I have an A that sounds like it has the same zenith carb and have a similar problem. The only way it will run is with the main (t handle) needle screwed all the way in. If I back it out, it bogs down and dies. If you turn the surge spring screw in too much, it will keep it from idling down...

    Farmall A axle seals

those prices i"m referencing are for seals that were crossed from ih part numbers... and each had the designation of NOS which in my mind always means new old stock. the prices i quoted are also accurate... crossed the ih part numbers on napas website. can"t imagine ih prices being cheaper either.

    Farmall A axle seals

anyone know of any auto parts stores that carry the transmission and final drive seals? I found some on NAPA"s site, but they were around $25-$30 each and looked like they were listed as NOS... NOS seals don"t seem ideal especially at those prices. Taking the final drives, pto, etc. off the A...

Farmall A or B? Which is it?

The tractor itself is undoubtedly configured as an A, that was never in question. The left side is short, the weld runs from about 10:00 to 2:00 on the housing (diff) where it attaches to the tranny. The crack isn't on the block of the engine at all. It sits right under the lower radiator...

How to Time Magneto on an A

I was thinking that if those two tiny little brass gears that turn the rotor were off a couple notches that the timing would end up being off a couple degrees. When it's timed "right", my mag leans out away from the engine more than I think it should.

    Starter Troubles??

Have you tried hooking up the starter directly to the battery with some jumper cables? If it doesn't work that way, its time to take the starter to the shop. If it does then you know its the connections somewhere. I had one do that on my M... worked one day and didn't the next. Had it...

How to Time Magneto on an A

This message is a reply to an archived post by Piratefan on March 17, 2009 at 17:30:19. The original subject was "How to Time Magneto on an A". does anyone know if the two brass gears on the cap side of the H4 mag have timing marks... the two gears that drive the rotor that is. I dropped one...

Farmall A or B? Which is it?

Lost my thought... the two welds both on the left side... wonder if maybe a tree fell on the tractor or it got turned over? the hood also has the extra hole on the right side for the starter tank, but the tractor doesn't have the tank or any extra levers/mounts for the shutters (also doesn't...

Farmall A or B? Which is it?

Ok, here you go... Looks to me like its an A that had a B engine swapped in, but could possibly be an A with a B engine from the factory because the block and head are from 1945 and the tractor (tranny) was built in the middle of 1946. Maybe a left over engine that got stuck in an A? The seat...
